If you hadn’t noticed, election day is coming up.
And if you’re like me, you can’t wait until it’s over.
I have chosen to spend the weeks leading up to this election by not participating in the rhetoric, including avoiding social media until it’s over.
And it’s not that I don’t care. I care deeply.
But a few weeks ago I was reminded of a quote by Ghandi:
“Be the change that you wish to see in the world.”
So I choose to hold in peace. I choose light. I choose trust and surrender. I choose to share my self with others for the Highest good.
And regardless of the outcome of this election, I choose to continue to be the change I want to see in the world.
It may not be as powerful as shouting my opinions from the rooftops of the world. Or maybe it will be more powerful.
But what I know for sure is that I can to elect me. I can choose how I want to be treated by treating others that way. I can choose how I respond to my experiences. I can choose to be happy instead of right.
So where do you elect yourself? Where are you showing up in life by ‘being the change’? And how does leading by example shift your experience?
I'm grateful for this shift because it has allowed me to experience more peace. I hope it does for you too.
